GREGORY FRYER
Theatre-Maker - Puppeteer - Workshop Facilitator
ABOUT
Hi! I'm Greg. Welcome to my website. This website will act as a portfolio of my work as a theatre-maker, puppeteer and workshop facilitator.

MY TRAINING
So, a bit about me. I am a graduate of Rose Bruford College's BA(Hons) European Theatre Arts course and I also, during that time, trained at Akademia Sztuk Teatralnych w Krakowie filia we Wrocławiu (Wrocław, Poland) as a puppeteer.

MY PERFORMANCES
I am primarily interested in ensemble-based, devised theatre, with a specific focus on movement and objects. I do, however, also have a silly side and really enjoy the occasional bit of clowning!

MY WORKSHOPS
I'm passionate about learning, and believe that no one can, or should, ever stop trying to learn and develop, both inside and outside the world of performance. I offer workshops in puppetry, devising and ensemble theatre, with the option of an additional session discussing different roles and career opportunities that exist within the theatre industry, and different ways they can be accessed.

This workshop trains creativity, group communication and playfulness.

ENSEMBLE PRACTICE
2 hours
This workshop introduces participants to a less conventional form of theatre-making by allowing participants to explore principles of ensemble theatre practice in order to develop work together as a collective.
This workshop trains communication skills, sensitivity to a group and is an ideal way of encouraging groups to work together and share ideas.

DEVISING TECHNIQUES

Devised theatre is a rapidly growing feature of today's theatre industry and gives the opportunity to explore an approach to making theatre that is dependent on the creativity of the group, as opposed to a pre-written text.
This workshop contains a selection of exercises and games which can be used to create a number of stimuli, which can be used as a springboard for a group's creative ideas to be made into theatrical work.
This workshop trains decision-making, creativity and communication skills.

STORYHOUSE CHESTER - ASSISTANT FACILITATOR
Since April 2022 I have been lucky enough to work with Storyhouse Chester as part of their Young Storyhouse team, specifically as an Assistant Facilitator for the Young Leaders program. This program supports young people who face barriers to accessing mainstream education to explore different departments of a creative, cultural building like Storyhouse.

I have thoroughly enjoyed developing my practice as a facilitator during my time with Storyhouse.
